Abstract
The company SOLUCIONES METALMECÁNICAS E INGENIERIA DEL CARIBE S.A.S.
Has a workshop in the city of Cartagena, which has different machines such as lathes,
milling machines, brushes, welding equipment, among others; However, they have
presented delays in their work, due to the constant electrical failures that usually take out of
service the entire electrical network that feeds the workshop, it should be noted that said
network does not meet the minimum requirements of Colombian regulations, since joints
are evident of cables of different gauges for the same load, poorly sized overcurrent
protections, overloads in various distribution branches, outlets without the minimum
protection and switches anchored directly to the wall.
This project aims to provide a solution to the company, designing an electrical network that
complies with Colombian regulations, which will mainly include RETIE (Technical Regulation
of Electrical Installations) and NTC 2050 (Colombian Technical Standard), in addition to
including the network distribution diagrams and single line loads.
To provide greater design reliability, simulations of operation and short-circuit failures will be
carried out in industrial software, to demonstrate reliability in terms of safety and operation.
