Abstract

Work is the main source of income in households and when unemployment occurs it becomes one of the greatest social concerns of a country, generating high rates of social, economic and emotional affectation in people since the quality of work is compromised life and the satisfaction of the basic needs of any human being. In this research, a review of the literature will be carried out, starting from a general framework referring to unemployment since in Colombia it has been characterized by having high rates, where the study is of particular interest because it not only affects the person but also the its family nucleus generating instability in the relationships between parents and children or the conjugal relationship damaging the general well-being, for which it has been structured in different sections, in order to obtain a broader panorama of the subject to be discussed. Therefore, this work is aimed at describing the categories of communication, limits and family hierarchy in a group of unemployed parents, men or women in a descriptive qualitative study. According to the course of the investigation, the main findings that were found based on the categories were that there were no changes in the structure in terms of communication and hierarchy since the families interviewed despite the fact that the father or mother was without a job It did not affect in any aspect since from the beginning the principles that each family established were handled; Regarding the limits, the proximity of the parental subsystem presented changes before and after the unemployment situation, since there was more contact because they were at home all the time.
