Abstract
The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between parenting practices and classroom discipline in 5th grade students of the Francisco José de Caldas Educational Institution of the Buenaventura District in the first period 2020; The participants in this study were parents and / or caregivers of these students aged between 30 and 45 years, the sample was acquired randomly, the majority being women. The methodology to fulfill the objectives had a quantitative-correlational approach; The information about the discipline of the students in the classroom was obtained through evaluation criteria provided by the teachers in charge of this group, where they specify low, medium and high levels; On the other hand, to know the parenting practices in parents and / or caregivers, the Parenting Practices Questionnaire version Parents CPC-P of Aguirre was applied, from the data obtained, it was found that the level of discipline of the students of the EI grade 5 Francisco José de Caldas and the parenting practices of their parents and / or caregivers have a positive correlation, taking into account that most students have a medium and high level of discipline and the parenting practices exercised by their parents and / or caregivers are in a positive trend.
