El estudio aborda la revitalización del río del Oro en Neiva como eje ambiental estratégico para fortalecer la relación entre la ciudad y sus recursos naturales. Con el objetivo de mejorar la sostenibilidad urbana y rescatar la flora, fauna y calidad del espacio público, se propone una intervención arquitectónica y paisajística que impacte positivamente el desarrollo sociocultural, económico y ambiental del municipio. La metodología abarca tres escalas: macro (ciudad), meso (territorio del río) y micro (espacio público), garantizando una solución integral que articule los sistemas urbanos. Entre los hallazgos, se destaca que la ubicación estratégica del centro de Neiva, pese a su deterioro e inseguridad, lo convierte en un punto clave para esta intervención. El proyecto busca transformar el río del Oro en un espacio funcional, promoviendo un vínculo perdido entre la ciudad y sus recursos naturales, y contribuyendo al desarrollo sostenible de la región.
Abstract
The study addresses the revitalization of the Río del Oro in Neiva as a strategic environmental axis to strengthen the relationship between the city and its natural resources. Aiming to enhance urban sustainability and restore flora, fauna, and the quality of public spaces, an architectural and landscape intervention is proposed to positively impact the municipality's sociocultural, economic, and environmental development. The methodology encompasses three scales: macro (city), meso (river territory), and micro (public space), ensuring an integrated solution that connects urban systems. Among the findings, the strategic location of Neiva’s center, despite its deterioration and insecurity, stands out as a key point for this intervention. The project seeks to transform the Río del Oro into a functional space, fostering a lost connection between the city and its natural resources, and contributing to the region's sustainable development.
