Abstract
In this project, the design and analysis of a low-cost 3-axis CNC machine for cutting fabric (Hurricane and Tempest) in textile companies was developed, with the aim of improving productivity at Creaciones Rolando. This design was intended to guarantee greater efficiency, reduce the operational risk for the company's workers during the manufacture of garments for private security entities in their cutting process, as well as make it affordable for micro-companies, based on the simulation in Mach 3 a reduction in the number of hours used in the production of the patterns was observed, therefore the company will require fewer employees for the cutting process, in addition to the probability that the operators suffered from some diseases such as Carpal tunnel, amputation of phalanges or other diseases caused by excessive manual work decreased. For the development of the project it was important to consider the requirements of the company to correctly select the instrumentation and mechanical elements, in addition to the results obtained in load simulation in Solidworks of Nodal Tension and Displacement where favorable results were obtained comparing with the elastic limit of the selected materials, the analysis and acquisition of the electronic components was also carried out to implement the machine, which implied making the connections of the motors to the drivers, to the Mach3 controller and to the power supply. Being the beginning to carry out some tests in the Mach 3 software, in this way the estimated cutting times on each pattern were obtained for a later tabulation with the data obtained from manual cutting and in this way it was found that productivity increased in the process cutting with the CNC machine by up to 31.2% based on the working times provided by the software and thus reducing the working time of the operator.
