The main objective was to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of the “outdoor” type systems on the welfare of pregnant and lactating sows, in order to be able to make a comparison between the different types of pig production that exist, based on three main parameters, stereotypies, piglet mortality and parasitic diseases, likewise to analyze these types of systems in relation to animal welfare, based on the principles of the 5 freedoms.eng
