Abstract
Telemedicine is understood as the provision of medical services at a distance. In Colombia this field is in action in a large part of the country's departments providing medical assistance. But the difficulties that hospital medical services go through are not unrelated, such as: scarce coverage in rural areas, the need for time to manage appointments (many of them expire when they are assigned), congestion in healthcare centers from very early on the early morning to access external consultation services, the technological gap in sites whose rugged topography makes it difficult to access the internet and the restriction of access on web platforms; However, with the incursion of the COVID19 pandemic, this care mechanism (telemedicine) becomes an alternative in healthcare centers and hospital sites, reducing staff, avoiding crowds that are sources of possible contagion of any disease. Taking into account the problems faced by the health care system in Colombia and the impact generated by telemedicine, this work shows the design, construction and execution of a prototype of a web platform (SIMAD, Integrated Medical System at a Distance) , which becomes a support tool in medical consultations allowing to manage and connect the doctor-patient, whose purpose is to observe in real time some basic physiological variables (heart rate, blood pressure, blood oxygen and body temperature) that allow an accurate diagnosis by the medical professional.
